Marketing you can handle.
Is This Thing Working?
You know you should be on social media. That’s where your potential customers are! You know that you could help so many more people — if you just knew how to reach them.
You have so much to offer and decide you’re going to stick to it this time. You create posts that just don’t get enough engagement to justify all that work and you fall off the wagon again. You’re winging it with no real strategy. Your marketing plan is more like hope and luck.
And you’d rather be spending your time doing other things anyway— either what lights you up in your business or everything you enjoy in your personal life – family, friends, hobbies and goals. I’m in the same boat! I want to spend time with my husband, see my friends, go hiking and running, do yoga. And sheesh, it’d be nice to have time to craft once in a while!
Some Common Myths
We’ve all fallen prey to some misconceptions about what works on social media, often without realizing it.
Posting cool pictures is your strategy
Some of us rely on having cool pictures — that’s what sells on social media, right? (Not to be confused with “likes.”)
You don’t worry about the captions, tags or hashtags
How hard can it be to write a quick caption? You made it through school, right? But, marketing for business does NOT have the same rules as posting on social for yourself.
Or maybe you hate writing — or don’t think you’re good at it — so you avoid it.
The Real Deal
There’s no magic bullet for best practices for social and web marketing. It takes time and motivation to learn all that. Plus, writing catchy copy for the web is a specialty, which you may ignore if you hate writing or think you’re not good at it.
It’s also easy to feel overwhelmed by the ever-changing technology, features and rules, and just feel unsure whether it’s working to bring in customers, sales or donors.
What you really need is a thoughtful strategy.
With a good marketing plan, strategy and an expert on your side, you can get on your way toward making the impact you got into this line of work to make.
What you need is help to figure out what works and doesn’t, then do more of what works and ditch the rest. That’s how you’ll reach more people, bring in business and get back to enjoying other aspects of your company and life.
And THAT’S where I come in.
I love telling stories! People want to do business with other people and stories are the best way to connect with your people.
Before I got into this field six years ago, I worked in the corporate world — in marketing and communications — and journalism before that. I’ve always gravitated toward marketing, and social media in particular, because I like the psychology and social aspects of it.
My mission is to help people understand what’s going on around them so they can make better decisions to meet their goals for their businesses and themselves. What lights me up is getting to know people, building relationships and sharing knowledge that can help.
I became a certified social media marketer and started this business because I want to teach others how to harness the power of online marketing to help more people themselves, using their talents and know-how.
So my question to you is … are you ready to grow? To reach more people who need exactly what you offer?
I want to help you do that! If you’re ready to see how, let’s talk!
