Here’s the Best Way to Make Your Social Media More Effective

The majority of business owners don’t think all the time they spend on social media marketing is effective. Or worse, they don’t know.

Only about a third of business owners who responded to a recent survey of mine said they’re confident that their social media marketing efforts bring in revenue. That’s great … for that minority!

However, that means that most people don’t feel that way, and that’s where I want to help bring some clarity.

Another 28% of entrepreneurs think marketing on social is helpful but aren’t sure how much. A quarter don’t think it’s helping their business. And finally, 12% admitted they simply don’t know. Even thinking about that leaves a sinking feeling in my stomach.

More Than 150 Hours

Because I know how much time most business owners put into social media. It’s a lot of effort! It can be 3-6 hours a week. If that doesn’t sound like a lot, it adds up to 156-312 hours a year. There’s a lot that we’d rather be doing — with my family, my friends, pursuing hobbies and passions, traveling (eventually) — especially if you’re not sure if all that time is getting you the results you want.

Plus, a lot of people said they don’t love doing it. In particular, more than half of respondents said they don’t enjoy keeping up with all the new features on the platforms they use. They don’t like trying new platforms and keeping on top of technological changes that affect who sees your posts (namely the dreaded algorithm changes).

If the problem is that you find your social media marketing efforts overwhelming, or don’t enjoy it, then the solution is to partner with an expert. The real problem is you need a customized strategy and an expert in the technology and writing effectively to attract the right people.

The Cost of Inaction

If you’re worried about the expense, you have to think of the cost of inaction, of continuing to do things the way you’ve been doing them.

And think of all the other things you could be spending your time and energy on that help you grow your business and build the kind of life you want to lead. That’s the reason you started a business — not to struggle every week to come up with something compelling to say on social.

You want to get help so your resources get used more efficiently and you measure what’s working. That’s how you make sure you attract the right audience, bring in business and get back to enjoying other stuff in your life. THAT has a lot of value.

I’m working on a program right now that will help lots of business owners solve all of these problems in a more affordable way. I’m so excited to share that with you soon!

Because don’t we all wish we could find a great partner? Someone who has already learned how to win the attention of the right people and tell your story.

You don’t have to waste your time checking the box with social media and not know if it’s helping you grow or reach your goals.
