I hear this question a lot, but here’s my unpopular opinion: the number of social media followers doesn’t matter all that much. Yes, we all want more followers, with the assumption that it would mean more sales.
You know what I pay more attention to than followers? Impressions or reach. Different platforms focus on different ones, but they both basically measure how many eyeballs get on your post.
This chart is from LinkedIn, so it’s impressions. And this client got almost 4X the number of impressions than they have followers. They got way more click-throughs (which, for them, is usually to event registration pages, so $$$).
And what’s that red number? We got all this with *fewer* posts — AKA less work. Isn’t that what we all want? Better results with less work.
