Three Ways to be More Decisive

This is all about my favorite takeaway from Lisa Sasevich‘s book Meant for More: The Proven Formula to Turn Your Knowledge into Profits.

I like reading books that bridge personal development and professional or business development and found this one really helpful.

Take Inspired Action, Decisive Action, Imperfect Action. -- Lisa Sasevich, Meant for More

Here’s a very abbreviated summary of what she wrote about.

Inspired Action

Take action right when you have the idea. Sign up for the class – don’t think about it. Donate to the cause that tugs at your heart. Trusting the insight and impulses is the best way to accelerate your growth and progress.

Decisive Action

Since that kind of inspiration won’t always be there, sometimes you just have to decide to do something. This tends to be the smaller, everyday decisions, she says.

Have you ever spent a half hour debating where to go for dinner? Her point is to do the opposite of that: decide and be proactive. It also avoids giving other people or circumstances the chance to make the decision for you.

Imperfect Action

Hard for so many of us, right? Even the thought of, as Lisa puts it, “going forward with good enough” sometimes makes me scream NOOOO inside. But it’s the best way to share the creations and contributions we all have inside us – sooner, and with more people.

The rest of the book is great, too. I highly recommend it!
